‘The H’ is a brand-new boutique hotel located in Bakewell, Derbyshire. It is made up of 10 luxurious suites, a café, lounge bar and plays host to Bakewell’s finest dining restaurant ‘The Terrace’. Attached to the hotel is the original Bakewell pudding parlour which is one of Water Street’s traditional hot spots.
The H boutique hotel approached CW2 after a poor experience with a local website company, they felt their brief of trying to appeal to the more luxury and younger market was not hit, and we agreed.
We designed a completely new slick, modern, monotone UI making the site feel much more up to date and much easier to navigate, moving away from the traditional dark & dull colours. We built an easy to use CMS using orchard, which made it easy for the hotel staff & their external content production agency to regularly update menus, blog posts and events.
To compliment the site, we shot all new photography to show the hotel in its true light, picking out specific pieces of thoughtful luxury throughout. Our internal photographer captured everything from close ups of bed linen, to external hotel shots, to food photography, which eventually led to us winning the contract to develop a new website & shoot new photography for The Terrace Restaurant.
As with every business trying to interact with the younger audience, having a mobile friendly website is very important. We built the H Boutique hotel website using component-based design making it seamlessly responsive no matter the device used.
Before this project, the hotel was struggling to project the amazing build of the hotel they had done. To show The H Boutique Hotel in its true form, we reached out to one of our partners Scene3D, to do an internal 3D tour. We knew that if the public knew what the hotel had to offer, the interest would go through the roof. During the first few weeks of the 3D been live, the tour had over 200 clicks/plays on the homepage of the website, which led to an influx of bookings.
We are now working alongside many of the group’s other companies such as: Proctor Cars, Postapudding.co.uk, Olive Grove Hideaway and more.
